ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Michael Hennessy

Michael has been actively involved in community theatre in Sault Ste. Marie for the past 35 years. He has participated in over 80 main-stage productions during that time, both as an actor and director. He has directed five winning main-stage productions at the annual Quonta Regional Drama Festivals, has won two Outstanding Director awards and in 1978 was named Outstanding Director at the All Ontario Theatre Festival.

In 1982, Michael co-founded Family Life Theatre with David Rivard of the Sault Ste. Marie Family Services, and since then has directed over 1800 performances of 31 plays focusing on social issues of concern.

In addition, he has overseen the writing of 16 original dramas and has traveled extensively throughout Ontario presenting Family Life Theatre plays.

One of the most successful ventures in his 25 years with Family Life Theatre was the collaboration with Dr. Larry Librach and the Temmy Latner Palliative Care Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, which resulted in the acclaimed "The Covered Mirror" play.

Michael is extremely proud of Family Life Theatre and its achievements and has high hopes for its future.
